  1. Thanks for all yalls replies. Sure helps having people that have been through this before
  2. What's the best way to pick up a cab without damaging anything?
  3. Thanks for the reply Rob. This truck that I found can be bought for about 4500 I think and it has a few things like passenger side fuel tank, steps, mirrors, etc that just the cab might not. Guy priced me a cab for 3750. Then I still have to buy a hood. Just didn't know which way to go
  4. I have a 99 CH that was turned over a couple years ago. I didn't give much for the truck to start with but did some work on the rear ends, springs, etc before it was turned over. I sold the dump trailer that it was hooked to a few days ago so I drug it out of the weeds and put some jumper cables on it and lo and behold it fired right up. Kinda got me thinking of fixing it up. Anyway my question is I found a decent truck that's not running but it's a 95 model single axle with an E7. Mine has an E Tech so I know there's some differences there. Is it possible/worthwhile for me to buy this whole truck for what I could buy an E Tech cab for?
  5. I tried this in the electrical section but no luck with replies so I'm gonna try it on this one: Just pulled this truck in the other day to clean the evaporator and when I went to back it out of my shop it wouldn't start. Automatic Traction Control light has been lighting up on and off since I've had the truck with no effect it seems. When the truck wouldn't start I noticed the ABS light was on and the hour meter on the dash was blank. Turned the key off and back on the ABS light was out and the hour meter was showing hours again and started right up and ran all day. Went to start it again and it wouldn't start and ABS light was back on. After a few tries of turning it on and back off the ABS light went off and it started again and ran fine. Just don't want to get stranded...Thanks for any help in advance.
  6. Battery connections seem to be good. It turns over good, just doesn't fire. Then when the ABS light isn't on it fires off as soon as you hit the key

  8. Thanks for your reply wheeler. It wound up being a plugged banjo fitting from the ecm plate. Thanks to staxx and mackpro68 also in an older post. This thing must have algae in the fuel or something, had to stop about 10 times in an 8 hr trip to take the fuel lines off and blow them out but finally made it. Never had any experience with algae in fuel, any pointers?
  9. Forgot to mention also that I tried pumping the hand primer as it was running to try to give it an extra boost and the primer pump felt kinda light like it wasn't pumping any fuel. Don't know if that could be of any help diagnosing. Thanks for the reply wheeler73. I've been doing a lot of reading on injector cups and such evidently that's quite an issue with them
  10. Just joined this site a few days ago and already looking for help...just bought 2 2007 visions with the pre dpf mp7 from an online auction in Texas. I'm on my way back to kentucky from Texas one of the trucks died suddenly going down interstate 30 and now I'm stranded 8 hrs from home. Truck runs a little but really rough. Full of fuel. Acts like it's not getting fuel. Crack open the secondary filter and it sucks a little air then it cranks and runs ok for a second then back to bad. Spitting codes for low fuel pressure and #1 injector. Was going to change fuel filters and the only one the local auto parts store had was the primary. Changed it and no better results. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
  11. Thanks for the welcomes and I'll try to get some pictures up sometime. And yes farmer52 you hit the nail on the head. Kinda partial to the green stuff
