  1. The Mack plant was on the north side of the QEW just west of the on ramp from Royal Windsor past the terminal that used to be the Bond Shed but before Trafalgar Rd. there are newer buildings there now Pete

A friend of mine had what was purported to be the last B model built at the Oakville Ontario (now closed ) plant.It was a fire truck single axle gas powered was never sold ,used as a shunt truck at the plant .Eventually Waste Management got it put a diesel and automatic trans in it and a small packer trailer ,used as an advertisement My friend bought the tractor;painted it black with a big Mack emblem on the door.He kept it for years had a tilt &load trailer with it sold about 3 years ago to a farm tractor collector in the Brantford ON area.Still in use.Can,t find any pictures of it Pete
  3. There was a guy there that owned a 1985 R688 that had been an Active truck.It turned out that the one I bought new was on the same order 1 digit different serial number Pete

That is a good posibility too.My friend said he heard Evans Ave location .I asked if it was Sottegraf or Performance he said heard MACK Corporate was the rumor thru his grapevine.He worked at the old branch till it closed and retired from Mack Sales later and keeps in touch with other guys.   8. A retired Mack sales man I know has heard that Mack is going to build a new Mack only company owned dealer in Toronto near the area the old factory branch Kipling Queensway was located ,Be interesting to see as the old factory branch was the last one to be closed. pete

Brockways used vendor parts no Mack stuff to my knowledge.It was a wholly owned subsiduary run seperately.The late Brockway and R cabs look the same but they are not.There are differences in the cowls and maybe the doors.this was discussed on the Brockway site a while back.I don't know if the entire cab would fit on a R model. I think the Brockway cabs were made by Budd.Scheller Globe my mistake pete
