I did that conversion on an 8V-71 Detroit... you need to go through the Bendix catalogue and ensure the mounting flange and drive gear is correct for your engine, the compressor is about 2" taller and longer, other than that it was straightforward..

pic shows mounted on the Driptroit, note the coolant hoses must be on opposite sides of the head, they need to flow across and not be adjacent. I later changed the governor to a remote set-up as it was hard to reach, and you can spin the head 180 if you need the air intake on the other side...

not sure how this helps with the Mack engine, just showing it can be done. Air build is super fast now as I had a worn out 400 in there.

Do you think it is worth the money for a 1cfm gain?
