years ago we had 2 TS32's we used on the widening of the new jersey turnpike project.

they were rock pans. weighed around 95 ton if i remember correctly.

12V71 detroit in the front, and 8V71 int he rear with alison electric shift transmissions.

when you are up to your armpits in alligators,

it is hard to remember you only came in to drain the swamp..

Ok looked it up the empty wt. of a ts-24 is 111,000 lbs. so your 63 tons would be about right. the 24 refers to how many cubic yards of materal the machine can carry which is 24 cy. they are a sight to see when "gang hitched" together, the one outfit i worked for had 3 ts-18's we would come into the cut and hitch together and shove the 1st. one into the cut, then as he was loaded the center guy would drop his can and the front and rear guy would push/pull him to get loaded, and then the last guy would drop his can and the two leads would pull you thru the cut, then unhitch and run to dump.

Yardo would have slit his wrists at the sight of that much oil being flung around in one spot that wasnt labeled as an oil well!

nothing to do with trucks but Im liking it thats one of the great things about this forum topics sought of lead off in un expected directions and I learn so much keep it coming would be good to see a picture of all three hooked together

Worked on ts24's; a company had some (double barrels) detroits, 12V71TA in front & 8V71N in the rear; my best rememberings was the left head on the V12; they were a bitich; they also had some with cummins power, they were single engine; cummins power K series I think

We had a fleet of 20 of the ts24's.We also ran Cat 657's and some 631's.The reason we always went with the ts24 was the price and the fact that they were simple to work on compared to Cats. Will have to dig out some pic of them.We would drive them around like they were kiddie cars.Once penndot crack down we used our 10' wide lowboy.

Tim theres a question here that seems to have been missed, how did the new Dog do pulling the load? Is that truck an MP8 or MP10? Horsepower?

I do have some pic but can't scan them into the tablet.

Mike do you have picasa for your computer. If not you can download it for free and it is a great tool.

What beautiful photos of a great looking rig. I had to show everyone else at the dealership them as well. Thanks.

Your welcome Bowtie!
