Nice new building Green Dash!

Recommended Posts

It's fancy-shmancy alright, a far cry from what the boys in Cleveland have to work with, but they're breaking ground on a new place this year. It's nice to have the room on BOTH sides of the terminal to back in, but tractor and trailer parking seems to be almost at capacity already. The ramp up to the dock is on the wrong side of the building, which I believe is what the construction crew is working on

I see you have a white hood, what brand did US Cargo purchase? You caught one of the CNG Cascadias and the only CNG Pinnacle in the fleet. There is also 2 Visions that were converted.

Where's the terminal at in Harmerville. I used to drive for Wards and know where it is but haven't seen the Pitt- Ohio terminal

It's been open less than a year and is not visible until your right out side of it. You take 910 past the 28 south on ramp and continue up a steep winding hill. It's at the top on the right. It is visible from the turnpike, at least when the leaves are gone.

Yeah pretty nice drive through bays at the garage. How are those cascadias holding up? I've worked on a couple Volvos with the CNG Cummins Westport but just for leaking o-rings in valves and fuel solenoids. Our side lot is packed with new pinnacles for delivery. The U.S. Cargo was a Hino Box truck.

I haven't heard of any issues other than drivers not liking how they pull. I think there are 6 of them, 3 in PGH and 3 in West Middlesex. The ones in PGH are driven by the 3 drivers with the least seniority because no one wants anything to do with them. Fueling is also a hassle because the nearest station is in the strip. Linehaul drivers coming back from the east fill up at the New Stanton service plaza on the turnpike. There will eventually be a staion across Rich Hill Rd from the terminal.

Was the Hino CNG or diesel? I saw a U.S.Cargo CNG straight truck there last week.

Are the new pinnacles CNG or diesel?

Other than D1753, with the red tanks in the pic on the left, all Pinnacles are diesel. They may eventually start phasing CNG vehicles into the fleet but they're still testing them and waiting for more stations to open. It's just not practical at this time.

All the CXU have mp7 with 10spd road rangers. The Hino was a Hino diesel. Must have been another vendor because I have yet to see a CNG Hino. Talon has Volvos with the Westport same with Beemac but, both have filling stations on there property so logistics aren't bad.

I saw the Hino's last night. The CNG U.S. Cargo truck is smaller than those. I didn't see that one last night but am curious about it now.

Incidently, the 2 Visions I mentioned above that had been converted to run on CNG have had there equipment removed and are once again straight diesels.
