2000 Vision plastic air box under dash, leaking sensors

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have a 2000 Vision 460 with the plastic air box under the dash. The air sensors started to leak and I am unsure how to remove them for replacment. Does anyone have a manual for this replacement procedure available or any comments.

Thank you in advance

The sensors themselves and the tubing connections in the manifold work like a synflex quick connect. Push in the small brass retainer ring around the fitting and pull out the tubing or sensor. Do yourself a favor and have a spare sensor on hand they are brittle and like to snap off.

I've had to replace manifolds when the air press. sensor wears through and breaks off inside the coupler and you can't get it out without removing the manifold. In one case it was a roll-off that was filthy so my way of thinking was as such. If you go thorough that much work and there's that much dirt on all the other fittings it's just easier to cut the lines and replace the manifold. You can never get the quick fittings clean enough not to leak with you reconnect the lines. Like underdog said, depress the brass fitting and pull the lines out. Just make sure before you press the brass inward that the lines are pushed all the way in until the stop or you'll never get the inner retaining tabs to release.
