Popular Post Guy Edelist Posted January 19, 2015 Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2015 Thanks to Vlad we got attention of LMSW!!I went to trace this vehicle history and found out amazing stuff, i have great friend here who knows about everything in vehicle's history in Israel and general knowledge about almost all moving piece on wheels in the western world. We trace this rare LMSW-23. one of 193 made between 1941-1942/This one came to Israel about 1943 probably with the British army, went civil in 1949, was in service for Egged bus company for years than sold for private towing company Tow crane is Garwood, Cab in Origin hard top, Engine is Mack EP ,160 HP. can you provide more details about this engineonce again thanks Vlad that shared the LMSW picture with me, Now i have to make more checks, will keep you posted. Just kidding Mack EP engine is a common Thermodyne overhead valves gasser.If the memory serves it's 672. The LMSW-23 is there at Arad, Israel been spotted yesterday 27/1/2015 with some pictures attached. only 193 built! rare beast.We don't know what the owners i.e. Egged bus service, is planing, they might sell / get rid of the whole lot with some old buses too. This one got Leyland 0.680 engine, about 200 HP was very popular in Egged, Israel at the '60-'70.Winch is of too, the cab looks not that origin BUT this Mack needs preservation! Guy Edelist Posted January 29, 2015 Author Share Posted January 29, 2015 trucks in Israel works hard than anywhere else, no air bags only leaf springs, truck jumped like drunken horse even in neutral, long duties for trucks that never built for this for example - Mack DM a R series were all arounders, taking containers, dump trailers and military tanks. sun in on during all year paint is dull due to this reason.This LMSW came to Israel in 1943 servers many years and changes ownership. cab is Scania Vabis, instrument panel had been modified so as rear bogies that had single tire- now double tires. yes, it needs good preservation.. 2 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
