707C to a 237 in a 1957 B-95

Hello Angelo, you should not have any major issues. I have repowered 2 C model fire trucks with ENDTF 673's. I needed to swap out the front motor mount, have radiator top tube moved, and a few other modifications but nothing crazy. The C model gassers already were plumbed with a return fuel line and I'm sure your B is plumbed the same. When finished I replaced the carrier with one with a 4.25 ratio which gave it a nice speed range in the low 60 MPH range. Totally changed the truck. I have had nothing but trouble with the 707. After the repower I would take the trucks just about any where. Good luck with the repower and feel free to call me any time. Don

Angelo my B85 with the 6v53 (I know people it's a green leaker start the hating now) is a pleasure to drive. I've driven a gasser before and the difference is night and day. Can't imagine how nice a six speed would be.

Is the 237 going in the old E-59?

I was told to put a 237 in a B,you had to retain your water pump & harmonic balancer from your/an END673/711. I have a 237/6 speed to install in the chassis I bought from Superdog. You can see it won't fit without doing the harmonic balancer/water pump swap. My 237 has a 3 fan belt set up,where the END673 has a 2 belt set up. My 2 cents.......Al

IF YOU BOUGHT IT, A TRUCK BROUGHT IT..AND WHEN YOU'RE DONE WITH IT, A TRUCK WILL HAUL IT AWAY!!! Big John Trimble,WRVA

Been their and done this swap, also think the hub that the harmonic balancer sits on has to be changed.

yup, front crank hub has to be changed, the gas job trans mounts are different than a diesel. you can probably re use the radiator with some fancy plumbing, I have used a B68/B62 radiator before in a B61. also need to put the 1/4 inch spacer plates between the front spring hangers and the radiator crossmember to move it forward or it is a real bitch to change a fan belt if you don't!
