Popular Post 68-f-model Posted October 31, 2014 Popular Post Share Posted October 31, 2014 I have been playing with my friends u-model dump truck long enough to decide I needed my own Mack.I found this one in mississippi and had it shipped up to michigan. Now the fun begins.A few simple questions to get me in the right direction:- Are the R and F model doors and side windows interchangeable? (need a drivers side )- Has any one added a aftercooler to an F- model 237?- Can you run a wider tire on the front of an f-model or does it rubb? I am thinking of a better step- Should I swap to 10r22.5 or 11r22.5 tires as the original 10.00r20s are very rotted and i have never liked the two piece rims?- Does anyone have a parts f-model with a complete power steering set up?now to squeeze it into the barn before the snow flies.Thanks 8 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
doubleclutchinweasel Posted October 31, 2014 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Welcome to the world of Dogs!There are lots of parts interchangeable between F, R, & U models. The F & R doors are the same. So is the RH U door.Frames are also the same between lots of those. So, power steering components can come from those same models. I have a document somewhere which tells which air compressors and pumps can be used.11R22.5 rims & tires will fit the spiders that came with 10.00-20s.More to come... 39 Baby Mack Posted October 31, 2014 Share Posted October 31, 2014 Your "F" model is an early one, steel dash- torsion bar cab.The doors are basically the same, however at some point in time the door locks were changed.Not trying to throw a monkey wrench in here, just be aware that they are not all the same.They might be able to be modified (change the lock in the newer door to the older style) to fit the striker on the old cab.I never tried it.Ron 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The old dog fired up and drove off the low boy despite being 29 degrees and snowing , no ether required. Things look to be off to a good start. Superdog. I might have to take you up on the parts , just need the time toactually get into really giving the truck a good going overSo far just the drivers door glass is needed.
