best dump bed

Recommended Posts

Looking for real life experiance concerning dump beds ,,, biebeau , beau rock, legace, brandon and summit are the ones ive been looking into. Im struggling with set up as well , barn door or high lift, sloped or straight, side boards or ^ shed, smooth side or old school rib, truion or pin to pin. Looking for pics of a dm with diffrent set ups as well, any advise would be appreciated.

yeah im thinking hard about updating the body, its huge and has 24" of overhang which i can't really understand why but it has it.

Weights 8k+ so some savings could be had also I really love the barn door on my fl80. also gotta set up a hitch plate and really like the idea of no body on it when it starts the sandblast paint process.

I saw a white dm locally that looks about a nice as an older dm can with a modern bed. Going to cost me 3k to blast and paint so it looks like something so if I can sell it just maybe it will make $$ sense.

Did the king pins and front shoes . passenger side was ready and the driver was right behind it so I just blew it out including shoes and new floats , front end is tight  . Put the floats I had on the lift axle so rubber is solid. gotta get a insp and tags but if the box is coming off then i will wait.

I had a RD with a bibeau bfl body( with posts) i got about 12000 hrs on it before the floor got a little thin in the last couple feet. I once punched a hole in the floor when the loader guy drop some r8s in none to gently, but you can hardly blame the body for that. All in all i was very pleased with the body.

You can do the inspection your self just fill out the right form inspector qualification.

Stealth or Millenium, all their bodies are top notch but those are the two I would pic for the salty north.

The Rogers Stealth body would probably be best up north since the bottom is smooth and boxed in, no way for the salt to get to crossmembers and rust it out.

i sent him a email, that at the right price would work but no barn door : (

imho barn doors are more of a pia than they worth. Stumps and demo are some of the few applications where they are actually needed even then i would rather have

hi lifts are really nice...but can get in the way if you are loading from the rear or if you need to leave the gate open while trasporting , that said the hL gates seem to stay in great condiition with rock etc
