E7 460 electric problem

I drive a 1998 Mack (e7 460 ,ch 600) It has a problem that sometimes it will lose power as if turbo don't work. But then other times its ok. I've heard these trucks get computer problems quite easily could it be that my computer is acting up? I had loose battery cables for some time before I notice it could a short from that have damaged it? Has anybody had a similar experience? I could use some advise
