Charge Air Cooler Paint

Recommended Posts

I removed the upper and lower grille sections from the MH. I am going to repaint the CAC and support flat black. I plan to use a Scotch-Brite pad to remove the old flaking paint. I bought a rattle can of Rust-oleum BBQ Black High Heat for grills and stoves (1200 deg F).

Any suggestions or recommendations?

Thanks!

Mike,

Yes, flat black because "I believe" it came from the factory that way. What are you suggesting?

Ken

Ken sorry I'm late. I was going to suggest a black powder coating. I have found it is very durable and will last longer than we will be around. I'm actually using this method on my truck and glad I can. This durable method is important to me because I have seen this wear on flat paint on many vehicles and are needing paint about each five years.
