EDIT-I can't get the link to go directly to the truck, its the 10th truck down, single axle RD686.

Its in NH, we are downsizing and the Granite will be sold. I really want to find a clean R model single axle to replace it. This truck looks pretty clean, I have an email in, will try to call tomorrow.

What I would like in a truck:

CLEAN!!!

12 fronts

23 rears

275-300 HP/ Jake

Mack 6 or 7 spd or Fuller 8LL

10-12' box

tarp

pintle with air and electric.

THANKS!!!!!! :MackLogo:

Looks nice and clean, would check over the frame real close.Since it has a plow on it ,it may also had a salt spreader on the back that would have rotted everythind back there. We had 15 DM600 that had both plows and spreaders and we would wash them down after every snow storm because of the salt.It looks like they have 2 of them, the other one doesn't have the plow,it may be the better of the 2.Plows can be a bit rough on the front end.Good Luck.

That the million dollar ? If it 's as clean as it looks you can expect to pay alittle more for it.These smaller truck are sometimes more $ because I would rather have one of them instead of say a Ford F550 or a 650.The Mack is built for what you will be using it for.Keep up on the maintenance and you will be surprize with how long it will last.

That truck looks good from the pictures. It looks like it has some rust between the double frame though.

Single axle R models are tough to find. There is one for sale in New Jersey that from the pictures looks in great shape. The only thing is the price seems high. Below is the link to it for comparison.

In my opinion, the one on Iron planet is about 20K over priced you can see that the frame paint was over some rust in a couple pictures, looks like it was given a paint job to make it look clean. The one on truck paper not sure what they are asking but anything over 7K with an in person inspection I think would be too much. That one on CL is about right and seems to be in just as good as shape, but being from up in the rust belt and being plow trucks they need to be inspected carefully both the cab and frame

The one at iron mart is definitely sweet, but if I get $60K for the granite, Im not sure I could justify giving half of it away for that truck, seems a bit high to me. I'm definitely scared of the one on CL in VT, I would almost guarantee its rustier than it appears, plus the box is too short and the plow gear makes it too heavy. I might have to settle for a CH if I can't find an R that makes me happy.

Nedly, the truck you bought was just over the hill from me. Saw it alot when I drove by. I dont think it was used daily. I met the owner last year when he stoped at the shop to buy some 4" pipe. Had a good talk with him, seemed like a nice guy. Said he worked for the town highway dept. Did he tell you how he had his house moved from out by the road to out back in the field? That was a interesting process to watch! Good luck with the new truck. I think its a good one.

Thats cool, he definitely seemed like a great guy. Lots of people honking when they went by, couple guys stopped to talk shop for a minute, I got the feeling he was well respected in the community. He didn't say anything about the house being moved, but I can't blame him it seems like a much nicer spot where it is now.
