Dash goes on & off , and the seat belt warning light flashes with the bell

Recommended Posts

Intermittent issue with a 2001 Vision with a 460/13 speed . Sometimes the dash works as it should , sometimes it will just shut down and show noting (although the VIP is still getting all the info and displaying properly) and other times it will be working ok, then the seat belt alarm light and bell goes off and at the same time all gauges swing back and forth. No sequence or regular timing , just like a moody lady ! Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated !

Grounds are a big thing for this and some were updated where u cut the ground and relocate to the ground circuit breaker on the firewall. Only thing is a tell tale sign the cluster itself is faulty is if customer complains the seatbelt light comes on. Probally doesnt even have seatbelt switches. Probally needs a cluster to fix this.

Same here.....its usually the cluster's circuit boards if the seat belt light comes on. I think it was just shy of $450 Canadian last time I had to replace one a few years ago. Comes as an assembly just swap the gauges over.
