One of the coolest and rarest sidewinders I have ever seen, a U795 with a Mack 865 V8 Diesel. And what's even cooler is that a good friend actually drove this truck in the 90's and even used it to haul the equipment to our house when we got our driveway done. It was also originally owned by a local Mack enthusiast by the name of Eidemiller (he has a really nice green B model and a nice green R600 tractor) so this ole U has a lot of cool local history for us. So enjoy!

Haha yea my buddy worked for the asphalt company and he went and picked it up for $2500, used it for 6 years then sold it for $2500. The starting bid of $4500 is a little high but I think that's probably because it's so rare. But yea, it does run good and from what I understand, that big V8 with a single straight stack is really loud

Cool truck. I have to admit to lusting after the V8 but then again that is a fairly rare vehicle if the description is accurate. I'm in the same boat as many of us where my wallet gives out long before my dreams come true. If only you could have one of each flavor...Oh well. I guess I will get mine on the road first and then worry about the rest of them...

That's crazy that this is an old Eidemiller truck. Both my dad and my uncle worked for them when they were my age. It's crazy how big they used to be and now they just have the little yard behind the bread store... From what I've been told, they had their own tire shops, machine shops, along with quarries, ashpalt plants, etc.

Being in the process of getting your CDL's is like sitting on death row...

Update on the never ending discussion regarding this U. I acquired it about a month ago - and rest assured it went to a great home. Pretty good shape for its age. Ultimate goal is to attach a trailer to it so I can pull my "very slow" B model to additional shows.
