Texas Fires; everybody OK?

Well Gregg, its getting lil tricky around here, we got wind whipping and blowing fires everywhere, upwards of 17,000 acres burned and bout 300 houses gone. They got all they can working on it, even civilians, I volunteered my dozer, have no plow on it, but i can sure cut a good 11 fooot wide ditch with my blade really quick. They gonna let me know something tommorrow, They said I better sure de-leave and trash the belly pans good for I start. This dam wind has it jumping roads and what creeks still have a lil water. Just pray no one gets injured or loses their homes or equipment. Its a mess. Thanks for asking Gregg,,,,,randyp Will try to post some pictures tommorow,,,,,,randyp

really? that was sad..maybe these people who were directly affected by the said fire might be needing a short term loans to top up the amount they need to get along with their lives after this incident.

Plain and Simple Miguel: FUCK YOU.

Randy, Do tell us how you really feel. LOL. Be careful around those fires. A few years ago in Florida the wind was moving the fires faster than the dozers and trapped operators without a way out.

back 10 years or so when we had the fires in fl dot was escorting guys from miami with a d8 on the bottom and a 5 on the back as fast as the trucks could run up the turnpike load and go no chains. had to talk them into letting us drop the trailer to unload so they didn't tear them up.

I heard they are asking for firefighters, even retired, from all states to send help. They said it jumped the colorado river and was still moving. In Ohio we have had rain on and off for a week now. Be carefull Randy,, please.

To all the good Lone Star folks who might be in the path of the fires; get the brush, grass, trees, etc. cleared away from your home now, before you are forced to evacuate. If you are able to remove the fuel from even as little as 30 feet from your house it can make a tremendous difference in the survivability of your home when attacked by a wildfire. I know it's nice to live in the middle of the woods, and it's heartbreaking to cut down the trees that made you want to live there to begin with, but in cases like this you really don't have a choice.

Hope you all get the needed rain or at least the winds die off. Be carefully as you can. We had a big fire in the Pine Barrens here in '95 ,a baby fire compared to what you're dealing with, but I saw what it can do first hand. BE SAFE and BE CAREFULL. Our prayers are with you. Paul

Randy- be REAL careful if you go. Saw a video of how fast the fire is moving. Amazing. As earlier stated, some fires have caught the equipment operators. Start about a mile from the fire line and in about 2 hours it will be on your doorstep.

There is a tropical storm in the gulf that is supposed to go north and then west into Mexico. Hopefully, it continues north instead and gives y"all some rain. Be back in a minute. Got to find the pic from Bostrop.
